This is my most recent boiler install. It was installed in a super cool underground garage. Well not completely underground, there is alley access.
All construction of the garage was concrete and metal, even the ceiling. You'll notice all the electrical wires are concealed in the garage with conduit and water lines are copper. This is what I consider a high quality commercial grade installation in a house.
Proper boiler ventilation is key to a long lasting system. The gas vent pipe is also very expensive, so it is important to locate the boiler in a manner that keeps the pipe distance as short as possible.
The boiler heats a series of pipes in the concrete and require this fancy little manifold with flow restricting valves and marked regulators so you know how much fluid is going through each loop.
The boiler has a separate heat ex-changer that heats the domestic hot water in the house. Since water in Calgary is very hard, I installed this water softener. This will ensure long life of the heat ex-changer and has added benefits in the home too, like easier bathroom clean-ups and softer skin and laundry.
I was glad to be chosen for this install. Gives me inspiration to build a super garage of my own one day.
Thanks for reading! If you or someone you know are in need of a plumber, your introduction would be much appreciated.
